Beauty on the Loose

A Very Special Horse
The first thing you notice about Vivian is the way she runs. She almost hydroplanes through the field - as if her feet don't even touch the ground.

I don't know if she's faster than your average yearling. It'll be a few months yet before she hits the tracks. But for all of her young life, she's been special.

Vivian is a Thoroughbred, destined to become a race horse. She has racing in her blood and it shows. She lives to run, running is a pleasure - and running is a passion.

Vivian was an only child, the only foal born last season. I guess it's sad that she had no playmates. On the other hand, she was very spoiled. All the other horses looked after her and she alone got all of the attention - from her mommie, her aunties, and from her human friends.

She has grown up secure and self-assured and happy. Vivian is a smart little filly. She learns quickly, rarely needing to repeat a lesson, even trailering without a hitch. She is raised with lots of tender loving care and it shows. She has no bad habits.

Well, maybe she's just a little arrogant. After all, when she races the old mares, she always wins. Vivian has to be in first place - always. Not a bad trait for a race horse.

Vivian is sharp and alert to everything. On the race track, she will know where every other horse is: behind her.

We call her Vivian. But her name is Beauty on the Loose. And she is a very special horse.
